Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Training

Who is BLS Training For?

BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers course is designed for medical, para-medical and allied healthcare professionals.  The skills taught include adult and pediatric CPR (including two rescuer scenarios), use of bag valve mask and barrier devices, management of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) as well as use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The course is approved by the Irish Heart Foundation and the American Heart Association and is widely recognised, both nationwide and internationally. All teaching is evidence based and in accordance to the training guidelines set down by the AHA.
The training includes theory and practical assessment.

Course Structure

  • Adult & Pediatric Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation CPR
  • Bag Valve Masks & Barrier Devices
  • Choking
  • Two Rescuer Scenarios
  • Defibrillation Scenarios
  • Exam
The duration of the training is approx 4.5 hours.

Certification

On successful completion of the training participants will be issued with a BLS for Healthcare Providers credit card sized certificate (e-Card). The certificate will be issued by the Irish Heart Foundation & American Heart Association and will be valid for a period of two years.
